Week 0 - House #2

Here we go again.

Yesterday we became the proud owners of fixer upper house #2. Interior before pictures will have to wait as part of this deal was that we clean out all the stuff that the owner left behind. And there is a TON of stuff.

Nice little ranch on a half acre wooded lot in a quiet neighborhood. This one even has a garage which should make it more appealing to potential buyers.

The big challenge in the near term is getting a new roof on and replacing doors and windows before the winter is upon us. Figures that we got our first snow on closing day. But this time of year we should be able to string enough fair weather days to get at least the roof all buttoned up. There is some water damage inside from the leaking roof, but not too bad.

"Good enough" is the motto this time around. Not one dime will be spent that doesn't add to the sale price and the Mr. will be doing more work himself.

  1. This house is very cute. Has good "bones". I am looking forward to seeing the progress, also include what you are cleaning out please (the "before")! Maybe you will discover some treasures! What is the back story? Was it a rental? Did the owner pass away?

  2. We love watching the progress as it comes along.
Bummer about the snow happening before Halloween!

  3. Howdy All. Well here you go again. Sounds like it would be a great home for a family with a couple of kids and a dog. Take it easy while renovating and enjoy. Oh, I might just have a coldie to celebrate your second adventure. No worries (for sure) and love, Carol

  4. How exciting! I hope this snow won't hurt the roof too much...I can't wait to see how things turn out.

  5. That is a wonderful photo of The Mr.! Handsome devil he is :) Will look forward to your progress and keep paws crossed for good weather to outlast the roof redo!

    Waggin at ya,
